I mean at the end of the day people figure out who you are anyway. So why not let them know from the start? That is if the plan is a long term relationship or even a marriage. If I was just going to be dating casually I would have no problem holding my cards close!! But if you're going after a long term serious relationship where you want to be with someone who knows you completely then honesty is the only way to go. I have to admit that I didn't personally like the comment about how the loose skin bothered him. I mean who is perfect, right? I'm not saying people out there are going to be loving the loose skin BUT to be honest...I would be kind of irritated if someone brought it up. Unless they want me bringing up all their imperfections. But I hesitated to even write this b/c I must add the disclaimer that I've been divorced for 6 years and I was left mostly for not being young and thin enough. So I have a perspective that influences my comments!! And once again...I'm divorced...and NOT in a relationship...so what do I know!!Holly from 300 Pounds Downhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13281919665062150209noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3915708022677820986.post-43983246190022180672012-04-06T16:46:23.778-07:002012-04-06T16:46:23.778-07:00Well, I think this is interesting, strictly from t...Well, I think this is interesting, strictly from the standpoint that I've been married for close to 17 years, and when you lump the 4+ dating years I had with my hubby, you are at 21 years that he has known me. And I cite that reason exactly as to why I'm not pursuing plastics...I clearly have a man who loves me AS IS. I'm pretty much damaged "goods" (not negative but just what popped into my head.) If I was on the "market" damn skippy I would be considering plastics. LOL. Even though I have a man who loves me through thick and thin, you better believe I have quite a few, ah hem, bedroom garments to distract from the skin. Anyway, that is my point for this comment, you need to start a nice bedroom wardrobe esp. since he brought it up!!! :-)Sheilahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01948575816814642269noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3915708022677820986.post-3070932273585282762012-04-03T19:52:24.303-07:002012-04-03T19:52:24.303-07:00Totally understand, both loosing "friends&quo...Totally understand, both loosing "friends" and having the skin issues. Sometimes I hate the loose skin but then I think, heck it is better than being 187 pounds heavier, but it still bothers me. Heck at least I recognize you and am proud of you lose skin and all. :)Jamiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02961127739278205857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3915708022677820986.post-24231155953140909312012-04-03T15:13:50.440-07:002012-04-03T15:13:50.440-07:00Have you ever considered the fact that Greg might ...Have you ever considered the fact that Greg might be that much more proud of you because of what you have accomplished by losing 117 pounds? Sounds to me like you need to embrace your accomplishment with both arms and scream it out at the top of your lungs that your loose skin does define who you are and who you have become.

As far as your peeps at work go...I know how you feel. We had a big meeting here a few months ago and brought in several senior managers from around the company. One of them "introduced" himself to me. I had to forgive him for not recognizing me after I reminded him that we had met a year ago (when I was 100 pounds heavier) and had a rather long discussion about work and family. LOL.

YAY for us!!!Dawn Spraguehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08228921549770979312noreply@blogger.com
